We really had lots of fun opening a new box every day. My 6 year old was quickly up and dressed to have those few minutes before the prescool to play with the new toy together with the ones from previous days. We only had some of troubles with the box they are in. First we opened the wrong end and all the toys almost fell out. I had a tricky situation putting it all back (there are no “open here” markings, just 4 identical sticky tapes. And you need to cut just the right 2 of them).
The other problem with the box is that it is so thin that it wobbles as she opens the doors and takes the new toys out (we have had some toys fall down to the lower box and we have been quite careful here), she also likes to put them back in and take out again and that is also risky as they easilly slide down to the lower levels.
All in all a great lego set, but the box is just too thin. Lets figure a better way to save the world rather than packaging of something that needs to last 24 days of daily play!

But what we did not have and always wanted, was a Lego Advent calendar, since we all also love Legos! This set is absolutely adorable, and my kids are so excited! I love that the box itself has the little punch out windows for them to find each daily prize. This is going to be something we reuse year after year, and even pass down to the grandkids. We have three boys and a girl, and even though Lego Friends is a bit more for girls, they still love this. Santa is a bit skinny, I will say! I would definitely recommend this Lego Advent calendar! It would be a great gift for any family.

My daughter was bummed when one day was supposed to be a reindeer and it was something else. The picture inside the day was of a reindeer but what was inside the bag for that day was something else. Of course we told her that maybe the next day it would be the reindeer instead and that lego must have messed up and switched them up. But much to our disappointment and surprise, the very next day, she got a repeat of the day before and still no reindeer. Apparently another product of no quality control and lazyness...

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I’ve seen a lot of advent calendars out there and I don’t think you can beat a Lego one! This is such a great way to prolong the feeling of getting gifts and also heightened the excitement of Christmas to come! Like a true advent calendar, each day you get to open a door to a new Lego. It comes with a little paper mat to play on but these are perfect to play with in other ways and with different sets. Each one is well thought out and some are pretty intricate! Such a great idea and gift for the price.
