January 13, 2024I was thrilled to receive ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 SkinCare Foundation, compliments of PINCHme. I love collaborating with PINCHme, as I get exciting opportunities to try amazing products likely suited for my lifestyle, all just in exchange for my honest opinion. I am a self-proclaimed SkinCare and Beauty Product Junkie and am literally obsessed with trying it all in search of the perfect fits. So, when I tell you that I am honestly BEYOND impressed with this product, YOU should be too and I will tell you why! First, of all, ILIA is very innovative, taking Beauty and SkinCare and melding them together to make our Face Sunscreen, Treatments, and Tint an All-in-One Beauty Product! This product provides a true lightweight, skin-like formula for a Tint or lightweight foundation. It is a Clean product, which pumps me with feel goods about actually loving it! The added SPF 40 protects from Sun Exposure and this product is jam-packed with all of the right ingredients as well, like Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and the Currently trending Squalane. This makes ILIA deliver a treatment for your skin, a protectant from the environment, and a simple and effective, yet radiantly stunning second skin look with a barely there finish in one single product. Also, there truly are quite an array of shade variations, and ST1 RENDEZVOUS, matches my very cool/neutral porcelain skin naturally and just like a second skin. I love that this Skin Tint comes packaged in a Bottle with a dropper due to maintaining cleanliness and keeping a product longer. Of all things I can rave about ILIA, I just ADORE that ILIA's Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 has such a natural finish and look. It truly looks like my skin, just BETTER! My skin even feels plump, hydrated, soothed, &happy. If you are looking for an Innovative Approach at SkinCare and Beauty, I recommend ILIA. You'll Love the Super Powers introduced to SkinCare after incorporating ILIA's Super Serum Skin Tint into your routine!

March 5, 2024I received the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint in the shade Rendezvous ST1 from PinchMe in exchange for my honest review. I had really high hopes for this product and I do like it but I just don't love it because there are too many weird quirks with it. Although it does not contain fragrance, it does have a scent - assuming this comes from the ingredients in the product. It is a little funky but not awful - but you do notice it especially if you use the skin tint around your nose area. It really doesn't dissipate at all. This is a perfect shade match for me - I have very fair skin with a rosy cool undertone so I was happy with the color match. It goes on very easily, it's lightweight but it is glowy. I have combination skin and it does say it's oil-free and non-comedogenic so win-win but it's not a natural or matte finish, it does give some radiance which in my T-zone...eh not the best for my skin type. I found I had to powder pretty quickly after applying the skin tint to tone down the shine. It's probably gorgeous on dry/normal skin. It did blend well and did not sit on top of my skin when using it with a brush and then a sponge to further blend it in. However, it does not play well with other products. It starts to pill up quite quickly over just a moisturizer, whether it was applied an hour before or just before the product, it didn't matter. It did the same with my sunscreen and started to really ball up, even though I let the sunscreen set down for 30 minutes. I do like the light coverage and lightweight serum nature but can't wholeheartedly recommend this because of these issues. If you can look past the scent, the pilling, and the glow factor, you might love this, but for $48 I feel like you can find other skin tints (like Fenty!) that don't have these drawbacks.
Thought I loved this but it was the cause of my breakouts!

January 2, 2024I've been using this product consistently since last summer because I liked that it was skincare, makeup and sunscreen in one and made my skin look good. During this time I started to struggle with acne breakouts along my chin and nose. I attributed these to hormones and stress and did my best to keep them at bay. I used this product every morning after washing my face in order to hide the spots and mask the redness. I even used it on my wedding day as a sunscreen base and to help conceal the giant pimples on my chin.
Fast forward several months and I found myself consistently complaining to my husband about how my acne and breakouts won't go away even though I was doing everything right and using non skin clogging products. As a suggestion, he said I should start to go make up free (aka not use Ilia skin tint) to help my skin. So I tried and it and within a week my usually zitty chin cleared up. Because I didn't believe it, I tried using the skin tint again and within two days I had three new pimples.
Here's my theory: from research and reviews I can generally see that the product works for most. The product is branded as non-com. (Aka safe for acne prone skin) but for us super acne prone people there ARE ingredients that can be super skin clogging such as Isopropyl I sostearate and Polyglyceryl-3 Diisosterate. An emollient and emulsifier. The product is also very sticky and hard to wash off with just normal facial cleanser. So my hunch is that because I was wearing it a lot (I thought it was helping!) and was not double cleansing with oil or makeup remover to get it off, it was causing havoc to my pores.
It's a cool product and seems to work for most but since I've stopped using it in my routine my skin looks soooo much better. I really loved this product and trusted the cleanness of the brand but personally won't use it again. Others on Reddit have confirmed my experiences with it.
Perfect for my sensitive/acneic rosacea skin!

February 9, 2024NOT INCENTIVIZED. Full disclosure: I bought this maybe two years ago when I preferred full coverage makeup and wound up returning it.
FAST FORWARD: I decided to repurchase it when my beloved EL double wear ran out last summer and I wanted something light to take on vacation that had sunscreen built in. I. AM. OBSESSED. I have used it daily and am just running out so a little goes a long way (actually here to buy another bottle). If you're looking for full coverage, this ain't it. BUT, I have super sensitive, acne-prone, combination/dry skin, and this does a great job of reducing redness and smoothing my complexion out, without looking like I'm wearing anything, and the SPF is a necessary bonus bc despite hating this about myself, I simply am not someone who will do the extra step of SPF so it HAS to be in a product I'm already using.
THAT SAID: my perfect formula to have this product work, last all day, and feel weightless - which is crucial for me is this: cleanse, Caudelie vinoperfect serum mixed with Bobbi Brown Face Base, brush my teeth, apply the Ilia serum MU with a beauty blender, get dressed, then set it lightly with Charlotte Tilbury airbrush powder and/or Hourglass pressed powder. I'VE NEVER RECEIVED SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON MY SKIN. It's glowy, but natural, protected, and amazingly doesn't break me out (almost everything does). I'll be buying this forever! <3
FYI: I wear EL double wear 1n2 (ecru?) and the ST3 (Balos) in this is PERFECT.
