Renowned as a preacher, Simeon helped found the Church Missionary Society (1797) and assisted the newly founded (1804) British and Foreign Bible Society. In his Horae Homileticae, 17 vol. (1819–28; “Homiletic Offices”), he annotated the entire Bible for sermon material.
